Hyderabad to Nashik is 700 km. Unlike Mumbai or Pune, Hyderabad doesn't have a quick expressway connection to Nashik — the journey involves either a flight (best option for most), a long drive (12–14 hours on NH-65 via Pune), or an overnight train.
Flight: IndiGo, SpiceJet and Air India operate Hyderabad (Rajiv Gandhi International, HYD) to Nashik Ozar (ISK) services. At present these are limited but expected to increase for Kumbh 2027. Flight time is approximately 1 hour 15 minutes. Alternatively, Hyderabad to Pune (frequent flights, 1 hour) then road to Trimbakeshwar (4.5 hours) is a well-established routing. Or Hyderabad to Mumbai (very frequent, 1 hour 20 minutes) then to Nashik (3.5 hours) — the longer total time but with maximum flight frequency.
Train from Hyderabad
Several trains connect Hyderabad's Kacheguda and Secunderabad stations to Nashik Road: the Hussainsagar Express, the Devagiri Express and the Nanded-Nagpur-Mumbai route trains pass through or near Nashik Road. Journey time is typically 12 to 15 hours. For pilgrims from Hyderabad with more time flexibility, the overnight train is comfortable in the higher classes and offers a more economic option than the flight.
A specific advantage of the Hyderabad train journey: the route passes through the Deccan Plateau — through Maharashtra's interior landscape of basalt plains, rolling hills and tank (reservoir) country. It's a beautiful part of India that the Pune-Nashik expressway doesn't show you. If you have 15 hours to spare and the journey itself is part of the pilgrimage, the train is worth it.

Telugu-speaking pilgrims from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have been a significant presence at every Nashik Simhastha. For groups choosing to self-drive or charter a bus rather than fly, the NH-65 route from Hyderabad through Solapur and Pune to Nashik is well-surfaced for most of its length, though the 12 to 14 hour duration makes an overnight halt in Pune or Solapur advisable rather than attempting the full distance in one push.
Several Telugu pilgrimage groups traditionally break the journey at a sacred site along the route — a stop at Solapur's temples is common — turning the road trip itself into a multi-site pilgrimage rather than simply transit time.
