On-Property Safety

The accommodation operates 24-hour security with two security personnel on duty through the night and one during the day. The main gate is manned at all times. A CCTV system covers all access points and common areas (not private rooms or tent interiors). The electrical installation is maintained to current safety standards with proper earthing and monthly inspection — important in a monsoon-region property.

Fire safety: fire extinguishers throughout the property with quarterly servicing. A fire assembly point designated at the far end of the garden (marked on the guest map provided at check-in). The tent area has its own fire extinguisher set and the tent canvas is fire-retardant treated.

Medical: a first aid station at reception with an extensive kit. An on-call physician associated with the accommodation who can be at the property within 30 minutes for any non-emergency medical need. A list of Nashik hospitals with 24-hour emergency facilities is in every room.

At the Ghat — Our Snan Day Protocol

Every guest who goes to the ghat on a Snan day with the accommodation shuttle is part of a managed group. Our guide knows exactly who is in the group, has everyone's name and emergency contact, and maintains periodic head-counts throughout the ghat visit. The group has a designated meeting point at the ghat (communicated in the briefing the night before) for any separation situation.

Our drivers maintain mobile communication with the guide throughout the Snan day. If traffic deteriorates or crowd conditions change, the guide adapts the route and the return shuttle timing accordingly. Guests can return early if they choose — they are not stranded at the ghat. We have a rest area arrangement with a local dhaba near the ghat where guests can wait in shade with water and snacks if there is a shuttle delay.

For NRI and International Guests

Keep a photocopy of your passport and OCI/visa card in your room safe, separate from the originals. Provide us with an emergency contact number in India at check-in. The accommodation team has WhatsApp available 24 hours during the festival period.

For medical situations: our physician handles most minor issues on-site. The nearest hospital with 24-hour emergency care is 18 km away, reachable in 25 minutes by our vehicle.

Our Emergency Response Protocol in Detail

In the event of a genuine emergency — medical, security or otherwise — our protocol follows a clear sequence: the staff member first on the scene stabilises the immediate situation and alerts the duty manager, who simultaneously contacts our on-call physician or, for security matters, the local police, while a second team member notifies the guest's emergency contact and begins arranging any necessary transport.

This protocol is reviewed and drilled with staff ahead of every major Kumbh season, precisely because the volume of guests and the intensity of Snan-day logistics mean the team needs to respond correctly on the first attempt, not learn through trial and error during the festival itself.

Safety Considerations for Women Travelling Solo or in Small Groups

Female solo travellers and small women-only groups make up a meaningful portion of our Kumbh guests, and we take specific care around their safety and comfort — female staff are available for any guest who prefers to coordinate with a woman team member, and our shuttle groups always include a briefing on staying within the group during the densest crowd sections.

We've found the Kumbh crowd itself is overwhelmingly respectful; standard large-crowd precautions still apply.

Documentation and Insurance We Recommend

We recommend all guests carry travel insurance covering both medical emergencies and trip disruption. Keep physical and digital copies of key documents stored separately from each other so a single lost bag doesn't leave you without any of them.

For international guests, registering your presence with your home country's local consulate, where such a service exists, is a sensible additional precaution.

This relationship also means we typically receive advance notice of any significant crowd or road advisories from the administration before they're publicly announced, letting us adjust guest plans proactively rather than reactively.
